Kavya Madhavan in Madan Kolli


After a short break famous malayalam actress Kavya Madhavan returns to malayalam cinema. Her comeback movie 'matan kolli' is with Prithviraj, to be directed by Major Ravi. Kavya plays the role of an investigative officer solving a murder mystery.

Kavya's return to films has sent happy waves in the industry, considering her saleable value and the ability to do justice to author-backed roles.

Reports have it that Kavya was flooded with offers since her return to Kerala from Kuwait. Recently, the actress had filed a divorce petition against her husband Nishal Chandra. Kavya Madhavan married Nishal Chandra at Kollur Mookambika temple on 5th February 2009, but recently returned to her maternal home and filed for divorce.

Major Ravi, the man who has made army based movies like Keerthichakra, Mission 90 Days , Kurukshetra is making a horror film with terrific graphics and special effects.

Major Ravi has met Kavya and discussed the story with her. It is a fantastic role that of an IPS officer Neelambari who is investigating a series of unnatural deaths during day time, and in the night a blood sucking witch!

Kavya has promised Ravi that she will take a call by the end of September whether she should make a comeback to the silver screen or not.

Meanwhile, Ravi is going about with the pre-production work of the film, which is being scripted by famous horror writer Sunil Parameswaran whose Ananthabhadram directed by Santosh Sivan was a big hit.

B.Jayachandran is composing music for this horror movie and famous cameraman Ravi Varman is the cinematographer. Ravi is directing the film for Vaisakha Films which will release it for Vishu 2010.

Parvathy Omanakuttan to act in Madan Kolli ?

Parvathy Omanakuttan, first Runner-Up of the Miss World 2008 and pride of Kerala is all set to grace the silver screen with Major Ravi’s upcoming Malayalam movie Maadan Kolli. The character that she will essay will be a complex one, a cop during the day and a vampire at night.


Buzz up!The movie has been in the helm of news for the filmmaker’s first choice of Kavya Madhavan. It was hailed as her comeback venture after her troubled married life. But the actress however refused the role and luck has favoured Parvathy. So too Prithviraj was to do the hero’s role, but as he is busy with Mani Ratnam’s Raavan he has no time for this movie. Let us wait and see who the lucky hero would be or rather who would be lucky for her.
